My backyard is fenced, the front yard is squarely in between two driveways and I was given a copy of an old survey…do I really need to get my own survey? The short answer is, yes!!! You don’t know if that fence was improperly located and is encroaching on your neighbor’s property…you don’t know if your property has any easements and you don’t know what has changed since the old survey was done.
